Gianfranco Lucchetta, otherwise known as John or Johnny, was born on September 20, 1980 in Toronto, Ontario. Johnny was a great young man with many passions and zest for life. He was a hard worker, a loving brother and son, and always there when he was needed. Johnny loved hanging out with his girlfriend Ashley and his friends, making hip hop beats, driving his car “Cindy”, playing with his cat BooBoo, and having a beer with friends at their favourite hangout “The Room”. Friends will remember him by his nickname “Rebello". Professionally he worked as a Realty Property Assessor in and around the Toronto area. Johnny loved this city. He was active in the community and interested in making Toronto a better place. Johnny had a promising future ahead of him. On April 10, 2006, Johnny complained about a strange feeling in his chest. That night he went to visit the doctor who told him he had a heart murmur and referred him to have some tests done on his heart. On Good Friday, John received a phone call from the clinic who told him that they found a mass in his heart and he had to immediately go to the hospital. On April 15, 2006 John went to the hospital where he was told he had a benign tumour located in his heart. He needed emergency surgery to have the tumour removed. Johnny had open heart surgery to remove the tumour, only to find out that the tumour was not benign. On May 12, 2006, Johnny found out he had Rhabdomyosarcoma which began in the heart and had spread to his brain and lungs. The doctors had planned radiation and chemotherapy treatments for him which were to span until September 2006. He had his first radiation treatment on May 18, 2006. After his radiation treatment, John fell unconscious and died on May 21, 2006. John was only 25 years old.
